Biography
Jason Wu, a visual effects artist and graphic designer since 2007, received his BA in Art and Design (2010) from Shanghai University and MFA in Computer Art (2014) with a concentration in motion graphics and visual effects from the School of Visual Arts, New York City.
As award winner for 2014 ACM SIGGRAPH MetroCAF, his thesis "Rock Got Cancer" has been selected for opening trailer. Besides visual effects, Wu has also received numerous awards for both his design and fine arts work, including a special award, first and second prizes in the Eighth Art & Digital Competition at Shanghai University (2008); and a nomination for the prestigious Beijing Olympic Fine Arts / Digital Arts Competition (2008). In 2010, he joined Shanghai Hui Yun Advertising Company as an art director where he produced VFX commercials and graphic designs for multinational corporate clients. As a talented motion graphic freelance and staff artist with a specialization in lighting and compositing, Wu has designed motion and print logos for television and web clients at Ambitious Media in New York City. Now Wu is producing architecture design and visualization as CGI designer in DBOX.
